James Basore (Stearns Co. Jail)
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Stearns County prosecutors have charged 44-year-old James Basore with attempted second-degree murder and assault after deputies say he shot a man outside his home in Belgrade on Sunday. Bail has been set at $1 million.
Investigators say the victim went to the door and got no answer. When he returned to his car, they say Basore walked up and opened fire, hitting the man multiple times.
Basore’s mother called 911 and he later surrendered. Family members told deputies Basore had been struggling with methamphetamine and believed people were messing with his house.
