MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO-CBS MINNESOTA) – A man’s body was recovered from the Mississippi River in Minneapolis Saturday morning after he went through the ice and into the river Friday.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found about 75 feet from where the man went into the water. The Sheriffs Office says an underwater remote operated vehicle with a camera was used to locate the body. Attempts to locate the body using sonar equipment on Friday were unsuccessful.
The man fell into the river around 4:00 p.m. Friday. A woman who attempted to rescue the man from the water safely made it back to shore.
