Duluth shooting scene (Northern News Now)
DULUTH, Minn. (NORTHERN NEWS NOW/KDAL) – A man has died after being shot by St. Louis County Sheriff deputies Tuesday night on Grand Avenue in Duluth.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident started around 9:40 p.m. when deputies tried stopping a vehicle for reckless driving near Grand and 59th Avenue West. The driver fled and was stopped a short time later.
Shots were fired by two deputies. The driver of the vehicle was hit and despite lifesaving efforts, he died at the scene. The sheriff says a handgun was found in the driver’s seat area of the vehicle.
No officers were hurt and the Minnesota BCA is investigating.
