students demonstrate at Davies High School
FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Some students at Davies High School in Fargo put down the books and picked up protest signs Tuesday afternoon.
The protest was in response to ICE activity in Minnesota and across the country. Starting at about 3 after classes were dismissed, an estimated 25 students gathered near the school’s main parking lot, holding signs and cheering when passing cars honked their horns in support.
Shortly after gathering, one of the student protestors read a prepared speech outlining why they were demonstrating.
“Speak openly and stand firmly because when future generations ask what we did in this moment, we can say we did not stay silent, we stood up and chose humanity,” Davies Junior Violet Bithow said.
After the speech, the student protestors marched north along 25th Street South.
