Car hit by train in Richland County, ND on Feb. 6, 2026.
WAHPETON, N.D. (KFGO) – A 21-year-old driver was cited after a vehicle was hit by a train in Richland County on Friday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened on 165th Avenue Southeast, west of Wahpeton around 10:30 a.m.
A picture shared by the Highway Patrol shows a car with extensive damage after getting hit by a Canadian Pacific train.
The driver was not hurt, but they were issued a citation for failure to yield.
The Highway Patrol reminds drivers that trains cannot stop quickly and always have the right of way.
