BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KFGO) – The mother of a 7-year-old central Minnesota girl who was kidnapped after getting off a school bus is thanking their community for helping to find her.
Through the Twin Cities law firm Eckberg Lammers, the mother issued her first statement a week after her daughter was taken in Zimmerman. The mother says she’s beyond grateful and incredibly proud of law enforcement and everyone in the community.
The child was taken from her near her home on January 21. She was found early the next morning in Albert Lea after an AMBER Alert had been issued.
Joseph Bragg, 28, of Maple Grove has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assaulting the girl. He was arrested after he was identified as a suspect and tracked in a rented pickup. The girl was found in the backseat.
An attorney for the law firm credited “the tenacious work of law enforcement” with finding the child less than an hour after the alert went out.
