Michael Diedrich (Cass Co. Jail)
FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – A suburban Twin Cities man charged in a fatal stabbing outside SouthTown PourHouse in Fargo has changed his plea to guilty.
Michael Diedrich, 28, a construction worker at the time, entered an Alford plea to a charge of murder. Acknowledging there would be enough evidence to convict him of the March 2024 stabbing that killed Ethan Larson, 22, of Newfolden, Minnesota.
Witnesses told investigators they were walking into SouthTown PourHouse when Larson approached them holding his chest and saying he was stabbed.
Officers arrested Diedrich after matching his driver’s license photo to video surveillance, and a description given by witnesses.
The agreement calls for a sentence between 20-25 years. Diedrich scheduled to be sentenced in late March.
