MOORHEAD (KFGO) – The Moorhead Police Department says a man from Chicago and a man from Florida have been arrested on multiple drug charges after a months-long investigation. Malcolm Parker, 34, of Chicago and Harold Bowen Jr., 49, of St. Cloud, Florida were both arrested this week.
Police say during the investigation, detectives learned Parker and Bowen Jr. were renting multiple Airbnb properties in Moorhead and Fargo to sell drugs. Over 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine was seized from the properties along with $14,000, a handgun, 12 bicycles and marijuana. The meth has an estimated street value of $12,500.
“This operation is a great example of collaboration with our local partners to keep our communities safe,” said Investigations Lieutenant Mike Detloff. “We also encourage short-term rental property owners to be proactive — use identity verification tools, communicate with guests before approving reservations, and report suspicious activity to local police. Simple steps like these can help prevent criminal activity from entering our neighborhoods.”
The Cass County Drug Task Force, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and federal Drug Enforcement Administration Agents also worked the case.
