Maige Yang (Hennepin Co. Jail)
MINNEAPOLIS – Hennepin County prosecutors in Minneapolis have charged a Champlin woman with killing her 18-month-old daughter by giving the child a lethal dose of a sleeping medication.
Maige Yang, 23, is charged with 2nd degree murder. The criminal complaint says Yang put the sleeping medication into her daughter’s bottle and then attempted suicide after the child’s father had been granted custody. Yang was arrested as she was released from a hospital.
Police say Yang admitted that she put sleeping medication into her daughter’s bottle and hoped that the dose would be deadly.
