Alexander Sian-Gonzalez
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO/KBRF) – A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Fergus Falls late Saturday night.
22-year-old Alexander Sian-Gonzalez is accused of stabbing his brother-in-law with a pair of scissors, nearly killing him.
Officers say they were called to the home on South Sheridan Street for a reported stabbing. Court documents say officers found Sian-Gonzalez in a detached garage, unsteady on his feet and appeared to be intoxicated.
Officers went into the house and discovered the victim, who was motionless on the floor with multiple stab wounds in his back. He was taken to Lake Region Hospital by ambulance and later transferred to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
A third man in the home told officers that Sian-Gonzalez had a knife and a pair of scissors and at one point began stabbing the wall. The witness said the brother-in-law had a conversation with the suspect, but when he turned around, Sian-Gonzalez stabbed him in the back.
Sian-Gonzalez told officers that he and the victim got into a struggle and that he was protecting himself.
Officers later met with the brother-in-law, who said Sian-Gonzalez was drunk and he was trying to put him to bed after Sian-Gonzalez tried to start a fight. The victim said when he turned around, Sian-Gonzalez stabbed him with a pair of scissors.
The doctor that treated the victim at Lake Region told police that he had two stab wounds that caused hemothorax, bleeding between his ribs and lungs. Court documents say the doctor indicated that if it wasn’t for medical intervention, the man would have died from the severity of his injuries.
Sian-Gonzalez has been charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, and domestic assault.
