Brian Pippitt
FAIRBAULT, Minn. – A northern Minnesota man in prison for the murder of an 84-year-old woman in Aitkin County has been released from prison 25 years after he was convicted.
Brian Pippett, 63, was found guilty in 2001 and had maintained his innocence. He was serving the sentence in the state prison in Fairbault. Pippett was released after Centurion Ministries and the Great North Innocence Project which questioned some of the evidence used to convict him in the murder of Evelyn Malin during a burglary.
The Minnesota Board of Pardons commuted his life sentence in September.
