WATERTOWN, S.D. (KFGO/KWAT) – A 27-year-old woman is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing in Watertown.
Police were called to the Prairie Lakes Hospital Emergency Room just before 2 p.m. Sunday after a 30 year-old man was dropped off there with a stab wound to the chest. Officers learned the victim was stabbed at a home in southwest Watertown. He has life-threatening injuries.
Police identified the suspect as Melody Harless. They say Harless and the victim know each other.
Harless was booked into the Codington County Jail where she is being held without bond.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol and Codington County Sheriff’s Office assisted Watertown police with the investigation.
