LAKE NORDEN, S.D. (KFGO-KWAT) — An elderly Kansas woman who’d been reported missing was found in Hamlin County in north-east South Dakota Thursday afternoon.
A sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 81 a mile north of Lake Poinsett.
The deputy confirmed the driver was an 86 year-old from Wichita, Kansas who was missing. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation had issued a Silver Alert for the woman.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, and arrangements were being made to safely reunite her with family members.
