FARGO (KFGO) — The mild weather the area is experiencing is a welcome break from frigid air, but can cause some travel concerns. Warmer temps can cause light snowfall to melt and re-freeze on roadways and sidewalks, creating slick and slippery conditions.
Fargo Public Works Director Ben Dow says crews will continue to work hard to keep the roads clear of ice.
“With the ground frozen as it is right now, precipitation just freezes on contact,” Dow said. “We’ll be probably battling this in and out for the next couple days until we can cool off and stay below freezing.”
Temperatures are expected drop Saturday night, but the forecast calls for another warmup in the middle of next week.
