Malaun Nelson, 31, Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A staff member at Valley Middle School in Grand Forks has been arrested after being accused of inappropriate conduct toward students.
The Grand Forks Police Department received an initial report on Saturday, Dec. 20. It was alleged that Malaun Nelson was trying to solicit sexually explicit images from students.
The investigation continued throughout the weekend and on Monday, Dec. 22, a search warrant was executed at Nelson’s address in Grand Forks. Investigators say evidence found during the search warrant led to the arrest of Nelson. The 31-year-old is a Valley Middle School Classroom Specialist.
A preliminary charge of promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor has been forwarded to the Grand Forks County States Attorney’s Office for consideration.
The Grand Forks School District was made aware of the investigation and has been working with the Police Department.
