Fargo Theatre in downtown Fargo (Visit Fargo-Moorhead)
FARGO (KFGO) – You have a chance to own a piece of history from the Fargo Theatre. A renovation project is underway to replace the seats in Theater 1, and the organization is selling the old seats.
The seats on the first floor were installed in the 1960s, and the balcony seats were first installed in 1937. It will cost $200 for a set of two seats and the maximum number of seats you can buy is six.
Pre-orders start at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19. All proceeds will go toward the Fargo Theatre restoration project.
The sale ends Dec. 30. New seats are scheduled to be installed in January and February 2026.
The new seats include more padding, cupholders, and they will be wider than the old balcony seats. The plans also include the addition of nine seats that will be ADA compliant.
The upgrades come after the Fargo Theatre was awarded $500,000 as one of the 2025 Tourism and Community Enhancement Grant recipients from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
