GARFIELD, Minn. (KFGO) – Several animals have died after a barn fire in Douglas County, Minnesota. Deputies responded just before noon on Wednesday, Dec. 17 to a property on Utopia Drive NW in rural Garfield, northwest of Alexandria.
Deputies, area fire departments, and an ambulance responded to find smoke and flames coming from the barn. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the barn is a total loss and numerous animals died in the fire.
How the fire started is still under investigation and no foul play is suspected.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, fire departments from Garfield, Alexandria, and Brandon, and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene. No one was hurt.
