Kevin Salisbury
MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A Moorhead firefighter, union organizer, and resident of Moorhead, announced that he is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 4A.
Kevin Salisbury says he has served the community for 18 years, responding to emergencies and advocating for public safety and workers’ rights.
“I’ve spent my career protecting the citizens of Moorhead, and now I’m ready to serve them in the Minnesota Legislature,” Salisbury said.
Salisbury’s campaign will be focused on what he calls “Comprehensive Public Safety.”
“I have a perspective on the state of our district that not many can have, and a dedication to improving the lives of those I have served,” Salisbury said.
Salisbury says public safety goes beyond the logistical aspects of having personnel and infrastructure, it also involves supporting residents by addressing issues of economic equity, housing, and access to affordable healthcare.
Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson is also running for the District 4A seat currently held by Rep. Heather Keeler, who is not seeking another term in the legislature. Keeler hopes to receive the party’s nomination to challenge 7th Republican representative Michelle Fischbach next November.
