Commissioner says City of Fargo has given out nearly 1M needles in past 2 years

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – In a post on her official social media, Commissioner Michelle Turnberg says over the past two years the city has given away almost one million needles.

“Where is the money coming from, what is being given out and who is paying for it?” Turnberg asked.

Fargo Cass Public Health’s Harm Reduction Center offers a variety of services for those struggling with addiction, including fentanyl test strips and rapid testing for blood-borne illnesses like hepatitis.

In the post, Turnberg says she’s been told to stay in her lane. 

Fargo Cass Public Health said they would not respond to or comment on the social media post.
