GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) — One person was shot in an officer-involved shooting in Grand Forks Friday night.
Grand Forks County deputies assisted Grand Forks Police after a woman called dispatch and said she was hold a man hostage at an apartment in the 1400 block of 10th Ave North. Officers quickly located the unit. They forced their way into the apartment, and saw the suspect and the hostage.
Sheriff Andy Scheider says a deputy saw a threat, and shot the suspect. She was brought to Altru hospital with unknown injuries. The hostage was not hurt.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating. The deputy involved was placed on standard paid administrative leave. More information is expected to be released.
