Tyrque Jones Hennepin County Jail Dec. 3, 2025
FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo police say the murder suspect they had been looking for since August is being released from custody.
Tyrque Jones, 20, was arrested Wednesday after being located in the Twin Cities. He had been the suspect in the murder of Azeem Holmes, who was shot and killed outside of District 64 in downtown Fargo.
Police say Jones’ release comes after interviews with Jones and further analysis of video related to the case.
“Information Jones provided to investigators helped to corroborate actions in the video and redirect the focus of the investigation to another individual as a potential suspect,” Fargo Police investigators said.
The Fargo Police Department will hold a news conference Friday at 11 a.m. to provide information regarding the release of Jones and updates on the investigation.
