2025 Burn the Bird 5K/10K
FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – 1,200 people got their Thanksgiving day started off on the right foot at the 13th annual ‘Burn the Bird’ 5K and 10K event.
The YMCA of the Northern Sky and SoleMOTION Race Management teamed up for the annual event on Thanksgiving morning. The race is part of hundreds that took place across the country.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Livestrong program, which helps local cancer survivors find community and improve their health.
“When you’re out here, that’s the best part of Burn the Bird. Isn’t the run, the run is great, we’re glad we’re doing it, it isn’t the money we’ll receive for Livestrong, that’s great too. But it’s about the community coming together, having the shared experience and celebrating the great things that they do,” said Steve Smith, President and CEO of YMCA.
The YMCA is also inviting community members to help local teens and children through their holiday Giving Tree effort.
