Fire destroys elevator in Mayville (Nov. 15, 2025)
MAYVILLE, N.D. (KFGO) – Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt says a state fire investigator is expected to help look for the cause of a weekend elevator fire in Mayville that destroyed the O’Brien Seeds elevator on Saturday night.
Hunt says the owners insurance company has also been notified. About a dozen area fire departments responded to the scene along with an aerial truck from Grand Forks Air Force Base.
The wind carried embers from the blaze and homeowners were told to hose down their roofs to prevent the fire from spreading further. There were no injuries.
