BAGLEY, Minn. (KFGO) – A man is dead after a police pursuit and shooting in Bagley.
Clearwater County Sheriff Darin Halverson says just before 12:15 Thursday afternoon, a deputy saw a man at the gas pumps at a Cenex convenience store who had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Halverson says a scuffle took place and the man fled in his vehicle. He headed east on US Highway 2 with other deputies and Bagley Police in pursuit. He drove through two yards before law enforcement was able to stop the car.
Halverson says the man fired a flare-type projectile at the officers. A deputy then shot the man who died at the scene despite life-saving attempts by Bagley Sanford Ambulance. One deputy suffered a minor injury. The State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will handle the investigation.
