FARGO (KFGO) – The Fargo School Board is meeting Wednesday to narrow down the list of names for a new elementary school on the north side of town.
Name suggestions from the public were taken from Oct.10-24 through a form on the Fargo Public Schools’ website. In total 1,320 forms were completed with a total of 437 unique names submitted. The names were then submitted to the school board to review. The board has picked the top 29 names.
At Wednesday’s meeting, board members will rank the school names to narrow down the list to the top five. Those five names will be considered at the Nov. 25 board meeting for discussion and selection of the final name.
The new school will be built on the site of Horace Mann Elementary, consolidating students from the Horace Mann-Roosevelt and Madison Elementary Schools.
The Fargo School Board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the District Office Board Room located at 700 7th St. S. in Fargo.
