William D. Gorman, age 82, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND.
Born on August 28, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, William Daniel Gorman, affectionately known as “Bill,” was the son of Floyd and Elizabeth (Wilson) Gorman. He spent his formative years in Coalport, PA, and attended Mercersburg Academy before graduating from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Bill began his career in the food industry with Marriott Foods. During his time in Washington, D.C., he met Judith Rietz, and they were united in marriage on June 13, 1971, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND. Their shared journey took them to ten different cities across the United States throughout Bill’s career.
In the 1980s, Bill opened Billy G’s Café in Richardson, TX, allowing him to spend more time working alongside family and friends. His career later concluded in Atlanta, GA, where he retired as Food Service Director from Woodward Academy. Following retirement, he and Judith relocated to Moorhead, MN, to be near their grandchildren.
Bill and Judy were active members of Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead, living a life centered on Christ.
Outside of his professional life, Bill cherished time spent with family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and loved creating lasting memories.
Bill will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Judy; their children, Kristen Gorman and David (Carrie) Gorman; four grandchildren, Seth Gorman, Kyle Gorman, Andrew Gorman, and Tyler Anderson; one great-grandson, Adama-James Miles; and one sister, Betsey (Bob) Nalevanko.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elizabeth Gorman.
Visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service in Moorhead from 5:30–7:30 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church – East Campus in Moorhead, with visitation one hour prior.
Interment will take place at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
