HATTON, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) — A grain elevator fire in northeast North Dakota is now 100% contained.
The fire at Anchor Ingredients in Hatton was reported around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. Traill County Assistant Manager Ben Gates said at least two buildings were on fire and one had collapsed as of Wednesday night. Those buildings were filled with wheat.
As of 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Traill-Steele Emergency Management said the fire was 100% contained, but two crews are still at the scene monitoring hotspots.
Anchor Ingredients announced in 2023 that it had acquired the grain handling facility in Hatton. At the time they said the facility would allow the company to expand its ingredient portfolio and processing capabilities.
