Protesting the direction of the country under President Donald Trump, people gathered Saturday in the nation’s capital and communities across the U.S. for “ No Kings ” demonstrations that the president’s Republican Party disparaged as “Hate America” rallies. (AP video by Mike Pesoli)
North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread joined us this week on “News and Views.” The Republican Commissioner spoke to the insurance needs of North Dakotans and how they’re being met. North Dakotans that include farmers, ranchers, small business owners, and everyone in between using the Affordable Care Act. Or as it’s referred to on his side of the aisle, Obamacare.
What is clear, is that Obamacare is working. The investment or subsidy Americans are putting into it is providing health insurance for those that aren’t able to receive it through work, for whatever the reason may be. The “big, beautiful bill” has taken that away. To the point where the cost of those needing insurance will face thousands of additional dollars a year.
That’s what the government shutdown is about, and the positions are very clear. Democrats want it put back into the budget, and Republicans want the minority party to trust they’ll fix it later. That’s coming from a majority that hasn’t showed up for work in tens of days. And a group of people that drafted the cuts in the first place.
November 1st is the time to sign up for Obamacare. If you are needing the insurance, why aren’t you saying anything?
President Trump recently gave Argentina $40 billion. All because he loves their leader, President Javier Milei. The problem for us is that this money was then used by Argentina to sell soybeans to China. And now, we find out it’s being used to bring Argentine beef to America. So again, if you farm or ranch, why aren’t you saying anything?
I’ll tell you who is saying something: Over 7 million people participating in the No Kings protests on Saturday. They took to the streets. in a peaceful and patriotic manner to tell the world what they thought. Those Americans care enough about America to tell the world. And I have no doubt their voice was heard.
Good riding with you,
Joel
