Ruth Gyldenvand, 93, of Fargo, peacefully passed away at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo on July 22, 2025.
Born Ruth Schock on July 7, 1932, in Burnstad, ND, she was the fifth of seven children of Karoline (Reile) and Willie Schock. She grew up and attended school in Wishek, ND. At a dance in Lisbon, Ruth met Robert “Bob” Gyldenvand. On November 18, 1951, they were married in Verona. From their marriage, they had four children: Evelyn, Bonnie, Mary, and James. Ruth said that she was married 68 years to her sweetheart and they enjoyed going to dances and playing cards with their many friends.
Ruth held various jobs throughout her life and spent her adult life caring for her children and her husband, who had many medical setbacks. After retirement and after Bob died in 2019, Ruth had several hobbies that she enjoyed. Some of these included gardening, coloring, sticker books, needlework, playing bingo, and daily devotions. More than anything, Ruth enjoyed her children and grandchildren and is grateful for everything they did for her.
