FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – A 20-year-old member of the North Dakota Army National Guard is the first to announce that he’s a candidate for Fargo mayor.
Jake Coulter says he’d bring big changes to the city if elected.
Among his proposals are raising fines for traffic citations to help balance the budget, streamlining communications to help inform the public and expanding homeless shelters. Coulter says says that despite his youth and inexperience, he would be a dedicated public servant.
The election will be held next June and so far no other candidates have announced for mayor.
Mayor Tim Mahoney cannot run again due to term limits.
