Allen Joseph Pritchard, 50, West Fargo, ND died peacefully July 31st, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Allen was born September 19th, 1974, to Gaylas & Phyllis (Schauer) Pritchard in Fargo, ND. He was raised on their farm outside of West Fargo. He graduated from West Fargo High School in 1993 and continued his education at NDSCS for small engine mechanics in 1996. Allen was an absolute genius with snowmobiles. He worked for Cheney Motorsports for many years, and there were not many snowmobile problems he couldn’t fix. He met Dawn Vaagen in May of 1996, and they were married August 1st, 1998. They made their home on a farmstead outside of West Fargo and lived there for 27 years.
In October of 2002, Allen started his own business of Allens Snowmobile Repair & Lawn Service. He chose the name for the business because he needed it to start with the letter A so that it would be the first business name in the yellow pages for snowmobiles! The business started in a one stall garage on the farmstead, which he eventually outgrew and needed to build a bigger shop in 2004. In 2004, he also decided that lawnmowing was not his passion and added Club Car golf carts to the business. In doing so, the name of the business also changed to All Season Motorsports; keeping the name of the business at the top of the yellow pages still. The business grew, and again he outgrew the shop at the farmstead and built a new storefront in West Fargo in 2006. He was in every department of business- sales, service, HR, janitorial, groundskeeping, & marketing. Allen poured his heart and soul into the business to make it a success. He was never able to play a game of golf because he was so busy delivering golf carts for tournaments!
Allen & Dawn were blessed with two daughters, Alanna Kirsten & Gabrielle Dawn. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Generally, you could find him shooting trap or archery with his daughters outside or going deer hunting or fishing with them. Allen shared his love of 4-H with the girls. They showed rabbits, as Allen did as he was a kid, ducks, and many static exhibits. On the farm, they raised Guinee hens, pheasants, and umpteen litters of kittens along with their dogs. Allen restored each of his daughters a 1969 Chevelle; hugger orange for Alanna & black forest green for Gabby. In retirement, he enjoyed going to car shows and added more cars to his collection. After Allen retired in 2023, the family made many memories traveling across the country.
Allen loved racing snowmobiles, taking them to the mountains, & fixing snowmobiles- he was great at it all. He loved being in West Yellowstone with friends, carving in the powder. He won so many grass and snow drag races, it’s hard to keep count of the trophies. He also had a passion for hunting. In North Dakota he hunted mule deer, white tailed deer, pheasants, antelope & big game including moose and elk. In New Mexico, he hunted elk with friends. In Florida & Texas, he hunted wild hogs with family and friends. He even went as far as Africa with a friend and hunted gemsbok, impala, springbuck & black and blue wildebeests.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Dawn, West Fargo, ND; his treasured children, Alanna (Andrew) Jourdan, Grand Forks, ND & Gabrielle Pritchard, West Fargo, ND; his mother, Phyllis Pritchard, West Fargo, ND; sister, Maria (Kevin) Richard, Harwood, ND; brothers, Mike Pritchard, Fargo, ND, & Doug (Stacy) Pritchard, Dilworth, MN; along with many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gaylas Pritchard; his father in-law, Gordon Vaagen; & a baby lost in miscarriage.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo, ND which took excellent care of Allen during his 3-year cancer battle and/or Twist of Fate, Fargo, ND which provides archery hunting opportunities to those with physical disabilities.
