Several businesses lost to fire in blaze near New York Mills

NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. (KFGO) – A large building with a number of businesses southeast of New York Mills has been destroyed in a fire.

The Otter Tail County Sheriffs Office says the fire was reported shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday in Newton Township. The building is owned by Brandon Nelson. Fire departments from New York Mills, Bluffton and Deer Creek responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the sheriff’s department.
