FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – A woman from the Twin Cities area who died when the SUV she was driving ran into the back of a semi near Fergus Falls was being pursued at the time.
Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says the chase began in Grant County. He hasn’t disclosed what agency initiated the pursuit only saying it was law enforcement.
The collision took place shortly before 8 p.m. Monday on I-94 southeast of Fergus Falls. Empting says his office was asked to conduct the investigation by the State Patrol. The woman who died was from St. Francis, Minnesota.
The original incident report from the patrol did not say that the victim was being pursued.
