FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Cass County will join the City of Fargo at Sandbag Central when work gets underway to fill sandbags ahead of spring flooding.
For the past few years, Cass County has set up operations for filling sandbags at the County Highway Department building in West Fargo.
County Engineer Jason Benson said the cooperative effort filling thousands of sandbags at one location, at the city solid waste garage in North Fargo, is the best option. He said, “streamlining both operations and volunteer support” can speed up the production needed to protect rural areas and the flood flight within the city.
Benson says Cass County will likely need a minimum of 100,000 sandbags for county residents and more will be required for the city.
The city has not yet indicated what that number will be.
