Fire spreads to multiple buildings in Wolverton, Minnesota; cause under investigation

WOLVERTON, Minn. (KFGO) – There was a large fire Thursday night in Wolverton, south of Moorhead.

The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call shortly before 6 p.m. on a report of a garage on fire with propane tanks located nearby at 409 1st Street.

Deputies and the Sabin Fire Department responded and a short time later, the Barnesville and Christine Fire Departments also responded.

Responding units located the fire and found multiple buildings on fire.  No further information has been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office and several area fire departments were assisted by the Minnesota Fire Marshal’s Office, Ambulance Service Inc., Xcel Energy, and Lakes Gas.
