WASHINGTON, DC โ Federal investtigators have determined the cause of a 2022 plane crash that claimed the lives of two Rochester, Minnesota men attempting to land at an airport in Bay City in western Wisconsin.
NTSB investigators say that a poor and unstable landing with a pilot who failed to discontinue the approach caused the crash. Investigators say the aircraft made four attempted landings before crashing during the fifth approach. The investigation found the plane was descending at a faster rate than during the first four aborted landings and was nose down at the time of the fatal crash.
The investigation also determined the plane did not experience any type of mechanical malfunction or failure.
