B-1 bomber, Grand Forks Air Force Base
GRAND FORKS AFB, N.D. (KFGO) โ The temporary relocation of 17 B-1 bombers and 800 personnel from Ellsworth Air Force Base to Grand Forks Air Force Base is expected to be completed in early March.
The bombers are temporarily being moved to allow for a massive runway reconstruction project at Ellsworth.
Air Force Colonel Tim Monroe says so far, nine bombers have been relocated, along with several tons of equipment.
Sen. Kevin Cramer has said planning for the relocation took more than a year.
