ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says law enforcement made 2,079 DWI arrests from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve.
That’s 353 fewer than the 2023 holiday campaign.
The agency says a driver with 21 prior DWI convictions was arrested following a crash in Brooklyn Center. A driver pulled over by police in Elk River had a blood alcohol content of .415, which is more than five times the legal limit.
Around 300 agencies participated in this year’s holiday DWI enforcement campaign.
