MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO) – The Transportation Security Administration says officers stopped 52 guns from making it through security checkpoints at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in 2024.
That’s 53 less than the year before.
The TSA says this is significant because the airport saw an 8.3% increase in travelers last year. Over the past five years, TSA officers have intercepted over 250 guns at Minneapolis-St. Paul International.
Nationwide, 6,678 guns were caught at TSA security checkpoints in 2024. The agency says about 94 % of those were loaded.
