WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A Worthington, Minnesota woman is in the Cass County jail after leading North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit on I-94.
Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Highway Patrol says troopers responded to a call about a reckless driver eastbound on the interstate in Barnes County. The caller said a car was swerving all over the road and the driver was brake-checking people.
Troopers located the car and tried to make a traffic stop. The driver fled, continuing east.
Troopers deployed spike strips west of the Sheyenne Street exit in West Fargo. Three of the car’s tires were deflated, but the car kept moving and the driver took the Sheyenne Street exit. Troopers stopped pursuing for public safety reasons.
Later, a trooper saw the car on I-94 near the Veterans Boulevard exit and made a traffic stop.
Makayla Ryan, 23, was arrested for felony reckless endangerment and fleeing. She also faces a misdemeanor DUI drug charge and was cited for possession of THC paraphernalia.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and West Fargo Police assisted the Highway Patrol.
