CITY OF FARGO RESIDENTS
Wednesday, December 25, 2024 will be collected on December 26, the remainder of the week will be on schedule. The landfill will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and also on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. For the New Years holiday, please follow the same garbage and recycling schedule as followed for the previous week (Christmas week).
Christmas Tree Pickup:
- Will be collected by the Forestry Dept January 2nd-12th.
- Place trees 5 feet from your garbage cart
- Please do not deposit trees on snow banks
- Remove plastic bags, lights, ornaments, wood and metal stands
- Trees must be on the boulevard for collection (not in alley)
CITY OF MOORHEAD RESIDENTS
- Christmas Eve (Tuesday, December 24, 2024). Tuesday’s route will be collected ONE DAY EARLY on Monday, December 23, 2024.
- Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25, 2024). Both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s routes will be collected Thursday, December 26, 2024.
- New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2025). Both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s routes will be collected Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The Forestry Division will chip Christmas trees on your boulevard from January 6-17, 2025, on your garbage day.
Note: The Forestry Division will not pick up Christmas trees after January 17, 2025.
• Please place trees 5 feet away from other objects.

Christmas 2024 (Wednesday, Dec. 25)
- Wednesday garbage and recycling will be collected on Thursday, Dec. 26
- Thursday garbage and recycling will be collected on Friday, Dec. 27.
- The Transfer station will close Saturday, Dec. 28.
2025 Holiday Garbage and Recycling Schedule Breakdown
New Year’s Day 2025 (Wednesday, Jan. 1)
- Wednesday garbage and recycling will be collected on Thursday, Jan. 2.
- Thursday garbage and recycling will be collected on Friday, Jan. 3.
Holiday Trees
Holiday trees will be picked up from resident’s boulevards between Jan. 8-12. After Jan. 12, holiday trees should be brought to the Transfer Station for disposal.
- All trees must have the bags and stands removed for efficient processing.
- Please watch the local newspaper and cable access channel for further information around the holiday season.
- Trees are not always picked up with the trash, so please leave them on the curb until a crew can get to them.
- Trees buried in snow banks will not be picked up.
Wreaths are not collected with Holiday trees.
