FARGO (KFGO) -A Moorhead man was arrested for assaulting a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper while being taken into custody for drunk driving in Fargo.
Oscar Lee Jr., 44, was stopped in the parking lot at 2535 23rd Avenue South in Fargo around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was suspected of being intoxicated and had children in the vehicle.
As he was being arrested for DUI, Lee resisted and started kicking at officers and striking a trooper several times. Lee continued to resist arrest and threatened officers until he was placed in a state patrol car and taken to the Cass County Jail.
The trooper who was kicked was treated at Essential Hospital for minor injuries.
Lee was arrested for DUI, DUI refusal, and driving under revocation, all misdemeanors. Lee was also charged with felony resisting arrest, assault on a peace officer, and terrorizing.
