Fire at St. Phillips Catholic Church
HANKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Hankinson caught fire Monday afternoon.
Diocese of Fargo spokesman Paul Braun said the west tower of the church was “engulfed” in flames late Monday afternoon and was in a construction area. The church had recently undergone a large renovation project. The fire appears to have spread through the roof of the building to the south side. The call came in at about 4:30.
Fire departments from across Richland County responded to the fire, including the Wahpeton Fire Dept. ladder truck. No injuries have been reported.
