FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo police say it was a unique call for service.
Officers who responded to a routine medical call in the 3900 block of 56th St. S found 14 goats in a trailer Wednesday afternoon.
A man who was driving from Montana to Michigan had experienced chest pains and required immediate medical attention and had to leave the animals behind. He also had two dogs.
Community Service Officer Laverne Buzick stepped in and contacted NDSU police. Skip Anderson, a shepard at the school’s Department of Animal Sciences helped make sure the animals were given food and water. The dogs were temporarily cared for by a pet and grooming spa. The goats were sheltered in the man’s trailer.
The man’s family was contacted and will assist him in getting him and the animals to Michigan.
