Former Cass County deputy charged with possession of child pornography

FARGO (KFGO) – A former Cass County deputy is facing felony charges in Cass County.

Carson Quam is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Court records say investigators from the North Dakota BCI found 10 photos depicting child pornography on a phone owned by Quam. The photos show men and women engaging in sexual acts with girls ranging from 2 to 14-years-old.

Quam resigned from the Sheriff’s Office in November. The Sheriff’s Office was notified of the investigation in September.

A Grand Forks County State’s Attorney has been appointed as a Special Prosecutor in the case.

A warrant has been issued for Quam’s arrest.
