MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO – WCCO) – Former staff with The Hotel Ivy in Minneapolis are now facing a lawsuit that alleges they were involved in sex trafficking
This comes a little over a year after Anton Lazzaro, a former tenant at The Hotel Ivy, was sentenced to 21 years in prison for sex trafficking of minors in 2020.
Attorney Jeff Anderson and his law firm are pursuing the case.
“There is now a deep body of evidence that establishes the legal responsibility of the Ivy hotel,” says Anderson. “We’re not trying to take them down, we’re trying to clean them up and every hotel in the industry.”
Anderson says while the staff there was trained to identify sex trafficking incidents at the time he and his team will work to prove that staff may have been paid off by Lazzaro to look the other way.
“His type was white skinny girls, under the age of 19 all dressed up,” says Anderson. “They would come to the desk, to see “Tony” and to get up to his condo and [staff] would have to accompany these girls.”
Lazzaro was convicted of procuring sex with at least five minor girls while living in the million dollar condo.
