FARGO (KFGO) – The man who was arrested after allegedly breaking into two homes in north Fargo Tuesday night has been charged. Manuel Perez Jr. appeared in court Friday, and was released from custody on bail.
Court documents say Perez broke into the first home just before 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, and threatened a person inside with a gun. Perez took a tablet and an old cell phone, worth a total of about $105.
Police responded to a home nearby for another robbery about 30 minutes later. The victim told police an unknown man broke in and threatened them with a gun. The man took a cell phone, a smartwatch, and $9 in cash.
Police tracked Perez to a homeless encampment along the red river. They located him inside a tent, and a SWAT team was able to get Perez out around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Perez is charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of burglary. His next court appearance is January 2nd.
