FARGO (KFGO) – Red River Valley SWAT helped Fargo Police arrest a man accused of robbing two homes Tuesday.
Officers responded to two separate calls north of downtown shortly after 9 p.m. where the victims say a man broke into their homes, showed a gun, and then left.
About two hours later, officers found the suspect in a tent near the river around 2nd Street and 4th Avenue N. They ordered the suspect to come out of the tent, but he refused.
The SWAT team was called in and around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, 33-year-old Manuel Perez was taken into custody. Perez, who has no permanent address, was booked into the Cass County jail for two counts of robbery.
While officers were attending to the robbery investigation, a nearby tent caught fire.
The fire was not related to the investigation. Officers used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.
No one was hurt in the robberies or fire.
