FARGO (KFGO) – Two people were injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting in Fargo.
Fargo Police were called to the 5500 block of 36th St. S. around 2:20 a.m. Saturday for a call of domestic assault and shots fired.
Police say the suspect chased the victim inside a townhome unit. The suspect fired shots into the residence, missing the assault victim but hitting an occupant. The assault victim and the shooting victim were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers learned the suspect fled, and tracked the suspect’s vehicle using license plate scanning cameras. The truck was located in the 800 block of 34th St. N.
The suspect would not respond to officers commands, and Red River Regional SWAT Team’s bearcat vehicle was used to get close to the car. A drone was also deployed. The suspect was found dead inside the vehicle, with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
This investigation is still active and ongoing. Fargo Police say there is no threat to the public.
Police had asked the public to avoid both locations early Saturday morning.
