WATERTOWN, S.D. (KFGO/KXLG) – A 16-year-old girl is facing multiple charges and recovering from a stab wound after assaulting two people and trying to stab a man last week.
Watertown Police say officers were called Friday night on a report that the girl entered a home without permission and assaulted her younger sister who was there visiting. Other people removed the girl from the home, but while outside, she assaulted another teenager.
When an 18-year-old man separated the two, the girl pulled a knife from her backpack and tried to stab him.
During the struggle, she accidentally stabbed herself in the stomach.
Police say the girl was supposed to be on house arrest and was under the influence of alcohol when officers arrived. The girl was treated at a hospital and then transported to the Codington County jail.
The girl is facing burglary and assault charges.
